Failure Investigation

CCI provide a fault investigation service either as the primary investigator or as an owners representative attending and/or reviewing evidence and opinion presented by others.

We have performed fault investigations on both land and subsea cable systems and their components.

It can be advantageous to attend the site of a failure to understand the location, the extent of damage, identification of the failed component and any items that it might be useful to be retained for further laboratory investigation.

CCI has its own laboratory where small cable system components can be dissected and investigations made. If required these investigations can be performed in the presence of interested third parties.

It would be usual for CCI to produce an engineering report detailing the nature of the investigation, the observations made and CCI’s engineering opinion.

Where a client is in need of expert witness evidence CCI engineers have given such evidence to arbitration, public inquiry and court proceedings both in the UK and abroad.
